When a European magistrate in Durban asked him to take off his turban, he refused and left the courtroom. Gandhi was appalled by the discrimination he experienced as an Indian immigrant in South Africa. The march resulted in the arrest of nearly 60,000 people, including Gandhi himself. Along with his wife, Kasturbai, and their children, Gandhi remained in South Africa for nearly 20 years.ĭid you know? On Wednesday we are headed to Okinawa, Japan! So I won’t be blogging for two weeks although I have a lot of pre-written posts that are scheduled while I am gone. Today is my nephew’s graduation party and then that’s it for all the events on my May calendar. AWe went to a pool party on Saturday and I have relatives visiting from California so it’s been nice seeing family I haven’t seen in awhile. My daughter was a bit emotional all week, some tears every time I picked her up from school and we talked and she said she’s sad because she’s going to miss Kindergarten. And it was the last week of school, so he did miss two fun events at school but at least he could participate in the pizza party they had on the last day. ![]() I took him to urgent care and sure enough he had strep throat so he was home with me for 3 days. Well what a week! After my nephew’s graduation my son had a sore throat the next day. ![]() |
